Fed by electronic fuel-injection, the engine is running great and is teamed with a 4-speed automatic 4L65E transmission that shifts smoothly and is well-equipped to handle the sizable powerplant's output. When the urge to veer onto rugged terrain strikes you, the original transfer case was rebuilt when the new motor was installed, and the 4-wheel drive on this Chevy works without a hitch. New ball joints and front-end bushings were also installed very recently to ensure squeak-free motoring, while a GM truck radiator takes its place up front to keep operating temperatures under control.
